Conversations on Ethics
The philosopher Alex Voorhoeve and New Yorker photographer Steve Pyke collaborated on ''Conversations on Ethics'', which collects interviews with leading thinkers on moral questions. On Thursday April 22, 8-10 pm, Voorhoeve discusses what we can learn from dialogues on ethics; Pyke describes his portraits of philosophers.

Steve's new series of Philosophers photographed between 2004 and 2008 is expected to be published as a book in the fall of 2010.

Last-foot-on-the-moon July - August 2009
Steve will be showing his Astronauts series in a show at the IPG gallery in Battle East Sussex. The show will run from July 4 2009 through to August 14 2009. Also showing preview extracts of Moonbug by Nichola Bruce.

Pyke-cover January 2009
Steve's new book Earthward has been published by Nazraeli Press . It contains fifty plates of still lives of tools photographed over the past twelve years.

Steve will be showing ten new portraits in a show Portraiture Now: Feature Photography at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington. They include Rem Koolhaas, Sir Ian McKellan Michael J Fox and Chinua Achebe

I-could-read4 October 16 and 17 2008
Steve will giving a seminar to the Department of the History of Art at The University of Michigan. Steve will give an overview of his career explaining how he started and will show work from that period. He will be discussing a number of his ongoing photographic projects including his Acts of Memory and his Philosophers series. He will also be showing the complete work from the book I Could Read The Sky. Steve is currently staff photographer at The New Yorker and will discuss that relationship and show recent work with them.
