What killed the cat is for The Philosopher a defining desire of the rational animal. What is this thing that all men, and women, want by nature? Can we have it? How? Why is it worth having? What is its distinctive value, if any? Much of my own curiosity has been spent on these questions. What are the nature, extent, conditions, and value of human knowledge?
